Jodie Williams and Nathan Wake took the club World Junior Championship medal tally to three with fine performances as the Championships drew to a close.

The ladies and men of the Herts Phoenix AC veterans team proved that they are still very much alive and kicking by qualifying for the grand final of the Southern Counties Veterans League in Ashford this September.

Herts Phoenix athletes had a very successful day at a bright and breezy Cambridge University track last Saturday.  With a strong wind favouring the sprinters for a change, the majority of sprint times were above the legal limit but a number of fine performances made it a strong showing for the club with a total of 15 medals. The ‘Welwyn Garden Express’ arrived on time yesterday in Moncton, Canada as Jodie Williams continued her 5 year unbeaten streak with a Gold medal at the World Junior Championships. Click here for the IAAF web site to follow her progress and that of Nathan Wake in the 4x400m relay

Please note that the U17 Inter-Counties match on 8th August that was originally to take place at Hemel Hempstead has been moved to Ridlins Park, Stevenage due to the damage at the Decorum & Tring AC track.
