Herts Phoenix young athletes returned four medals from the recent South of England U15/U17 Championships held at a wet and windy Julie Rose stadium, Ashford, Kent over the Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend.

Local sprinter Jodie Williams made the front page of Athletics Weekly last week following her second UK and European record in a week.  Running for Hertfordshire at the CAU Inter-counties championships at Bedford she posted a new record time of 11.24 seconds wiping that of Kathy Cook from the books.

The annual international meeting at Loughborough University between the Loughborough Students, GB Juniors (U20), and England, Scotland and Wales seniors took place on the hottest day of the year so far.  Many established internationals such as Jessica Ennis, Marlon Devonish, Christian Malcolm and Martyn Rooney were also taking part, proving the calibre of the event.
