England Athletics East Region held their awards evening at Homerton College, Cambridge on Saturday evening. It was a very successful event for Herts Phoenix as the Club collected three of the Region’s top awards including Club of the Year, an award it has now won three years in a row. |

  Two of the Hertfordshire girls teams that qualified for the English Schools Combined Events Championships, held at Exeter at the weekend, took the National Titles. Herts Phoenix athletes were well represented in the County teams as you can see from this picture where Stephanie Gaynor, Laura Wake and Claire Humphries competed alongside Bunmi from S&NH AC in the Under 17 girls category. As Herts and N Middx area champions of the four-match Southern Veterans League, Herts Phoenix Ladies team travelled to Ashford to contest against the other league area winners in the Championship Finals on the 19th August, where joint team managers, Mike Dixon and Maureen Lane, received their area winner’s trophy on behalf of the team. Herts Phoenix Women only had a short journey to make for their final Southern Women’s League Match of the season with a visit to the Ridlins Track at Stevenage. They met local rivals Stevenage and North Herts AC, City of Plymouth AC, Colchester Harriers and Wycombe Phoenix. Results & final league table now available on this web site. |
