The Gold medal wining exploits of Katie Caulfield at the English Schools Championships means that she has also been selected to compete for England next weekend at Bedford international stadium in the Schools home international meeting. Another fantastic achievement at the English Schools Champs last weekend was delivered by the Herts Senior Girls team. Heavily loaded with Herts Phoenix athletes, they won the Jean Hayward Trophy by beating the other 12 largest Counties in category 'A'. |

Due to many other commitments the Herts Phoenix men's team was very depleted last Saturday for its home match at Gosling Stadium, Welwyn Garden City with only 7 athletes able to compete. However these athletes put in some very good performances with several first and second places and most members competing in 3 or 4 events plus the relays, the team finished in 5th place. |

This weekend saw the prestigious English Schools Championships take place at Gateshead International Stadium. Herts phoenix had a record 21 athletes selected for the Hertfordshire Schools team and after a weekend of highs and lows they did themselves and their County proud, bringing home 4 Gold medals and 2 silver and racking up many other fine performances. Twenty one Herts Phoenix athletes will be making the long trip by coach to Gateshead next week to compete for Hertfordshire at this year's English Schools Championships. For some it will be their first experience of English Schhols and others in the Senior ranks have been several tmes before but all should enjoy one of the biggest athletics events of the year. It will again be televised on Sky Sports 2 at 2pm on Saturday, and the following provides athletes pen pictures so that you know a little more about those you're hopefully watching on TV! |

Herts Phoenix Senior women continue to struggle in the UK Womens National League Division 3. After two matches of three, the team are placed at the foot of the league with everything to do in their final match at Wigan in August if they are to avoid relegation. |
