The Hertfordshire Schools Cross Country Championships was held at Verulamium Park, St Albans on Saturday 6th February 2010.  More than 40 athletes from Herts Phoenix Athletic Club represented their schools with 10 of them winning automatic selection to run for the County in the English Schools Championships at Seaton Park, Manchester on Saturday 20th March. Taking gold were Lizzie Bird and Liam Dee. Silver went to Emily Ruane, Edward Shepherd and Joshua Jewson and Mary Gough won a bronze.

A small number of Herts Phoenix AC athletes competed in the Essex County Indoor Championships and Open Meeting last weekend  at Lee Valley with the Armorgie Family taking home three Gold Medals.

The indoor season got off to a good start fort Herts Phoenix AC as the 60m sprint hurdlers led the way at the South of England indoor championships at Lea Valley this weekend.

At last the thaw came at the end of last week and therefore the tracks are clear of snow.  Normal training sessions should resume from Monday 18th January but if in doubt please contact your coach before travelling.
