There was a very good turn out of Herts Phoenix athletes for the final race in the Metropolitan Cross Country League hosted by the Club in Verulamium Park, St Albans on Saturday 9th February.

The under 13 girls’ team race was very exciting as the Club’s athletes had to claw back 35 points to overtake Hillingdon.  They just failed to close the gap finishing just 16 points behind but they had the consolation of winning the team race on the day and also providing the race winner in Ella Lloyd closely followed by Lizzie Bird in 3rd place.

There was a very good turn out of under 15 boys and under 17 men managing to hold onto second place in the Team competition and also having Tom Gough, after an excellent run, just being squeezed into third place on the line and finishing in the same time as the second placed runner.
