Metropolitan League victory for our young athletes PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 19 February 2010
Herts Phoenix under 13 Girls’ Team won their final race in this year’s Metropolitan Cross Country League series making it 4 wins out of 4 (one match was cancelled due to the snow) and thus retained the overall League title. Lizzie Parry finished in second place and was well supported by her team mates.  Click here for results.
Despite being sent the wrong way by a marshal and having to retrace his steps Jake Barraclough (Heath Mount) raced to an excellent win by a margin of 20 seconds over the second placed runner and led his team home to a comfortable win thus holding onto second place in the overall competition. Despite not being able to field complete teams the under 17 men’s and women’s teams finished the series in second and third places respectively in their overall team competitions. The Senior Men’s team finished in 11th place and the Veteran Men’s team finished 8th overall.
