As an ex runner, 25 years of competition, mainly road running 10k through to marathon, I couldn't just opt out of a sport that has given me so much pleasure.

Money has never been easy to raise in athletics so I decided that would be a way for me to help and remain involved in the sport. For a number of years now I have helped Hertford & Ware A.C, now Herts Phoenix by way of sponsorship and supply of office products. Obviously we run a business and hopefully the profile of T&H is enhanced and we procure business from such exposure. It may well be that there is not a tangible gain but we can't lose because at the end of the day we have the satisfaction of helping keep the aim of athletics alive.
