In the first instance please contact our Membership Secretary – Meryl Johnson by email at
Due to the continuing popularity of athletics following the London Olympics we have waiting lists especially for the younger age groups.
Parents of members will be encouraged to help at League meetings as well as helping our coaches on training evenings If you are interested please contact Meryl Johnson, who will put you in touch with an appropriate club official to discuss the opportunities.
New members aged between 9 and 11 are introduced to the sport by joining our very popular Sportshall athletic sessions and many of them will have the chance to compete for the Club and some may be chosen to represent the County in Sportshall Athletics where we have an excellent record leading to many appearances in the annual National Finals at the National Indoor Arena, Birmingham.
Moving up the age groups from aged 11 right up to veterans, members are encouraged to compete in track & field leagues during the summer months and during the winter in cross country leagues. The Club also participates in a local Road Running League..
We are very proud to have been the first athletic club in Hertfordshire to achieve Clubmark status and we hope this gives confidence to parents when choosing a club for their children. Clubmark is the Sport England cross sport quality accreditation for clubs with junior sections. It is only awarded to those clubs that comply with minimum operating standards in four key areas: The playing or participation programme, duty of care & child protection, sport equity & ethics and club management. Parents are encouraged to find out more at www.clubmark.org.uk/about/about-clubmark
