I am a postgraduate student at the University of Hertfordshire and, as part fulfilment of my MSc degree in Physiotherapy, I am conducting some research into Achilles tendon pain. More specifically, I will be looking at the effect that heel drop exercises have on the amount of blood flow in the Achilles tendon of male runners who suffer from long-standing Achilles tendon pain.

Several of the Club’s endurance athletes travelled to the Inter Counties Cross Country Championships which were held in Cofton Park, Birmingham on Saturday. The courses set out by the organisers of these National Championships were very challenging to all the athletes who travelled from all over the UK to represent their counties after qualifying in their County Championship events held earlier in the year.
