The Herts Phoenix ‘Prepare for Return to the Track’ July Challenge: Odds and Evens

You are challenged to run ‘pyramids’ over a course in your local park, 20 times during the month of July. Try to find someone to run with you (but keep 1m away from each other). If the date is an even number, you should run 200m, 400m, 600m, 400m and 200m. If the date is an odd number, you should run 500m, 300m, 100m, 100m, 300m, 500m. Don’t forget to warm up and then choose your speed and the interval between runs according to your preferred events. Sprinters will run fast with long recoveries, at least at the shorter distances: middle-distance runners will stride more slowly but with shorter recoveries. Get in touch with your coach and let them know how you are getting on.’
