SAL Gosling 2016

June 27, 2016

Herts Phoenix athletes pulled off another fine win in the third of this season’s matches, despite being short of several colleagues who were competing in their age-group England Athletics Championships at Bedford, which meant that some of the Club’s promising under 17 age group athletes had the opportunity to compete against older athletes and gain important experience in senior competition.

The meeting finished with a win for Herts Phoenix with 202.5 points, Stevenage & North Herts came second with 179 points, Dacorum & Tring in third place with 177.5 points and in fourth place was Havering with 159 points, following the third round of matches in their division Herts Phoenix are now in second place and looking forward to the next round when they will travel to Ashford on 9th July.

Although the senior women only recorded a few individual wins by Louise Reilly in “B” string 200 metres, Alex Hill in “A” string 400 metres, Hayley Kruse in “B” string Long Jump, Erin Breen in “A” string Pole Vault and Eloise Meakins in “A” string Javelin they were strongly backed up by their team mates who secured many important second and third places as well as recording some new personal best performances which shows the strength in depth of this young team.
