Coaching Coordinators

Introducing our Coaching Coordinators for Gosling and Wodson...

There role is to lead the coaching at each site, to ensure our athletes are getting the most out of their training. They've got years of experience between them, and are happy to guide any athlete, parent or volunteer who want to give coaching a go.

I've been throwing since I was at secondary school. I have represented school, club and county. I coach all the throws but specialise in the "heavies". I still compete in the SAL and VETS League (if you don't get to see me at the matches then you will surely hear me) and still enjoy competing and encouraging all the younger members of both teams. With the coaching I love passing on my knowledge (to whoever needs it) that I have gained from over 35 years of competing. I also officiate the field events when I'm not competing. Outside of athletics I am heavily involved with the Scout association.

I’m a senior level 4 coach at 400m, 4 x 400m and triple jump. I have 22 years of coaching at a senior level, plus 3 years through the ranks so 25 years in total. I’m also an ex-athlete (albeit many years ago now!) having had to retire when I was 20 following a back injury, so I get the athlete’s “point of view.”
